Miele hosts KBBG conference

The conference for KBBG – which is the UK division of the Der Kreis buying group

The event was attended by independent kitchen specialists, appliance companies and suppliers from the larger kitchen furniture brands. “It was a magnificent day with members enjoying and experiencing the superb Miele facilities. Wayne was inspirational, with many excellent analogies, as well as detailing his inspirational rise to prosperity, with the focus of ‘generosity’ as his mantra throughout his design philosophy,” said Miller.

“The excellent relationship we have with our suppliers, and our organisational buying power, benefit all our members and affords the independent kitchen specialist the opportunity to realise the very best buying conditions. The process is simple and easy and opens the field to a large and desirable supply chain that strengthens the UK independents’ advantage and helps them grow their business in the market,” he added.

KBBG Moves to new State-Of-The-Art Premises in Southampton

In line with its rapid growth and the continued expansion of its UK business, the Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG), part of the DER KREIS, has moved into a new state-of-the-art head office at Threefield House, Southampton.

Threefield House is a modern office environment near to the heart of Southampton city centre with easy access and onsite parking.

Bill Miller, KBBG’s managing director, says: “The KBGG has made rapid and admirable progress in a very short space of time, and the move to our new premises is an important and significant indication of our expansion and our dedication to our independent kitchen specialists. Our membership is growing all the time, as is our range of attractive buying terms from our ever-increasing list of suppliers of kitchens, appliances, worktops and accessories.

“KBBG has an excellent pedigree as part of DER KREIS, which has become the largest buying group in Europe over its 35-year history. Membership provides additional buying conditions on many kitchen furniture and appliance brands and gives our independent kitchen specialists exclusive access to a number of German kitchen furniture ranges.

“In forming such alliances, with all the countless advantages it offers, independent kitchen specialists remain independent and retain their own identity. They also benefit from purchase and payment advantages. We believe that a buying group trading concept is the most effective method to grow margins, share and compete without giving up your independence.”

First members' meeting great succes!

The first annual members’ meeting for the Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG), the UK arm of DER KREIS buying group, was hosted on 15th & 16th June by Nobilia.

Following a chartered flight to Germany, members enjoyed an evening meal and overnight stay at the Lind Hotel in the picturesque and historic town of Reitberg. The following day, members visited Nobilia, the largest kitchen manufacturer in the world.

While touring the excellent showroom and production facility, KBBG members had an exclusive preview of the new Vivari furniture ranges, due to launch in forthcoming months. Members attending the meeting were also offered an exclusive Vivari display offer, as part of the group’s dedication to provide better margins and improved buying conditions to the independent kitchen specialist.

The trip was jointly led Bill Miller, Managing Director of KBBG, providing the opportunity for members to discuss, and to take advantage of the many benefits available as part of the largest buying group in Europe.

Bill Miller said: “It was a very successful first annual members’ meeting giving attendees the opportunity to meet and discuss their future needs. In addition, we presented the opportunity for KBBG members to see the buying group’s Vivari furniture range.

“The strong relationship with our European partners is there to support and give the UK retailer a great head start – all the ground work has been done. While sales growth with our suppliers is our focus for 2014, the proven European services and offers will strengthen the UK independents’ advantage and increase the members’ numbers.”

The presence of Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG) at this year’s kbbreview Kitchen Conference on the 12th September 2013, proved a great success for the KBBG, who were also one of the event’s sponsors.

It was the first opportunity for the Group to engage face-to-face with kitchen and bathroom retail specialists and explain the benefits of the KBBG’s membership, its strategy and plans for the future.

As the market is slowly emerging from economic turmoil and the retail channel is registering the first signs of positive growth, the KBBG, whose aim is to exclusively support kitchen specialists, is developing the best possible buying terms for its members, taking advantage of its business network of Europe’s leading manufacturers and suppliers.

The kbbreview Kitchen Conference 12th September 2013 is the only networking and seminar event dedicated solely to the UK kitchen industry.
